To Lift My Eyes UP

Thursday, November 20, 2014

I know I need to lift my eyes up, but I'm to weak life just won't let up.
But I know that you can give me rest, so I cry out with all that I have left.
Let me see redemption win, let me know the struggle ends, that you can mend a heart that's frail and torn. I want to know a song can rise from the ashes of a broken life, and all that's dead inside can be reborn.

“I am no bird; and no net ensnares me: I am a free human being with an independent will.” ― Charlotte Brontë, Jane Eyre / Week 17 of 52

My sister and my aunt's dog Ruca. : )

Don't be afraid to dream a little bigger darling.

Monday, February 17, 2014

One of the biggest privileges in my life is to have a sister as one of my best friends. Leah and I have always been close. We are  21 months apart in age, so we grew up wearing matching clothes, getting similar hairstyles. We always shared a room and played together. Barbies, dolls, singing loudly, playing house, doing school, rollerblading competitions. Of course there was bickering and me being not so nice moments to! : ) As we have grown older and changed,so has our relationship. We are no more just playmates and sisters, but true friends. The things we do together have changed except for the singing (yes we still do it randomly and very LOUDLY!). One of our very favorite things to do together is watch BBC miniseries!Name one and we've probably watched it. She is always finds the best miniseries! It's kinda hilarious how much we fangirl over the characters! Leah is beautiful inside and out, kind, talented, sooo hilarious, loves God. I am so glad that I get to have her not only as a sister, but also a sister in Christ! Go check out her blog : http://takingthe366.blogspot.com/

                                                                    Leah, i love you. <3

“A little Madness in the Spring Is wholesome even for the King.” ― Emily Dickinson / Week 7 of 52

It seems as if these quotes are getting harder each week! Well this was a tough one, considering there is about 6-12 inches of snow on the ground right now. : ) I guess the sun is the closest thing to spring we have right now.

“A little Madness in the Spring Is wholesome even for the King.”  ― Emily Dickinson

“One day in the country Is worth a month in town” ― Christina Rossetti / Week 4 of 52

Friday, January 24, 2014

I really do love this quote. Even though I don't live in the country, I have always loved it. I get my once a week dose of the country driving home from work. For as long as I can remember my Dad has been driving these roads. As soon as I got my license, I was eager to start driving them.I specifically took these cold icy roads today just to get my weekly picture...Oh and weekly dose of the country. : )

“Be glad. Be good. Be brave.” ― Eleanor H. Porter / Week 3 of 52

Sunday, January 19, 2014

This weeks challenge was a little harder than the first two weeks! I'm excited to be doing this challenge though, because it is really stretching my creative abilities.

He Remains

Wednesday, January 15, 2014

Psalm 102:26-27
They will perish, but you will remain;they will all wear out like a garment. You will change them like a robe, and they will pass away, but you are the same, and your years have no end.

As a Christian this verse is comforting to me. So many wicked things happen in the world we live in. To know that Christ remains and that he will never pass away is the greatest comfort I can have! Things of this earth will lose vibrancy and rot but Jesus Christ is the same. Nothing earthly will ever replace or compare to Christ. He Remains.

The sky could fall
The ground could shake
The stars burn out
And seasons change
The time will pass
And beauty fade
But all my love
Will remain.        -Royal Tailor

“Two is company, four is a party, three is a crowd. One is a wanderer.” ― James Thurber / Week 2 of 52

Saturday, January 11, 2014

I love spending time with my younger brother Ben. Today we went out to run some errands. All the snow was melting, and the fields looked so neat with the little mounds of snow contrasting the dark dirt. I got out to take some pictures on the way back and realized I needed a picture for this week. I asked Ben if I could take some of him and WOW he agreed! : ) So this is my interpretation of the quote “Two is company, four is a party, three is a crowd. One is a wanderer.”  ― James Thurber
